Domestic travel
The U.S. government requires US Airways to collect taxes and fees, which are included in our advertised fares. A segment is defined as one takeoff and landing.
- 7.5% tax on base fare (U.S. transportation tax)
- $3.90 per flight segment, per passenger (U.S. domestic segment tax)
- $2.50 per enplanement, per passenger (September 11th security fee)
- $3 to $18 per passenger (Local airports assess Passenger Facility Charges – PFCs – amount varies by airport)
- $8.40 per flight segment, per passenger on certain segments beginning or ending in Alaska or Hawaii
International travel
International fares include government-imposed taxes/fees of up to $180. Taxes and fees are subject to change at the discretion
of each country's government and may be adjusted for inflation. You may be required to pay taxes or fees not already collected.
Dividend Miles quick ticketing fee
A service fee (per passenger) applies to Dividend Miles award bookings made on usairways.com when the booking date is less than 21 days from the travel date. If you have Dividend Miles Gold, Platinum or Chairman's status, the quick ticketing fee is waived.
Dividend Miles award processing fee
We charge an award processing fee based on destination ($25 for tickets within the U.S. and Canada, $35 for tickets to Mexico/the Caribbean and $50 for tickets to Hawaii, Europe, the Middle East and South America). If you have Dividend Miles Gold, Platinum or Chairman's status, this fee is waived.
