Domestic travel
The U.S. government requires US Airways to collect taxes and fees in addition to our advertised fare. A segment is defined as one takeoff and landing.
- U.S. Domestic Segment Tax - $3.60 per flight segment, per passenger.
- U.S. Security - September 11th Security Fee - $2.50 per flight segment.
- Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) - Local airports assess charges of $3 to $18 per passenger (amount varies by airport).
- Alaska/Hawaii - $8 per flight segment, per passenger on certain segments beginning or ending in Alaska or Hawaii.
International travel
International fares do not include government-imposed taxes/fees of up to $107. Taxes and fees are subject to change at the discretion of each country's government and may be adjusted for inflation. You may be required to pay taxes or fees not already collected.
Ticketing fee
$25 fee ($35 international) for tickets purchased at Reservations and a $35 fee ($45 international) for tickets issued at airport and city ticket offices. Ticketing fees do not apply to travel vouchers, military fares, interline and code share tickets (except Hawaiian Airlines and Mesa Airlines), government fares, gift cards, guaranteed airfare vouchers, future travel awards, air checks and vacation packages.
Reissue fee
We charge a fee to change your non-refundable tickets. For tickets within the domestic U.S, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America the fee is $150 and for changes to transatlantic flights, the fee is $250 (in addition to any difference in fare).
Unaccompanied minor fee
$100 each way ($200 roundtrip) service fee applies for all unaccompanied minors. Only one fee is required when two or more minors in the same family are traveling together. 'Same family' is defined as brother, sister, half-brother, half-sister, step-brother or step-sister. Check with the airline for unaccompanied minor policies and fees if your itinerary includes a codeshare flight. Fees apply for each flight segment.
Lap children fee (international flights)
Lap children must have a paper ticket and are subject to applicable international taxes to be paid at the ticket counter on the day of departure. A paper ticket will be issued at the time of payment. Also, a 10% fee of the accompanying adult rate may apply depending on the destination.
Dividend Miles quick ticketing fee
A service fee (per passenger) applies to Dividend Miles award bookings made on usairways.com when the booking date is less than 14 days from the travel date. Dividend Miles members with Chairman's or Platinum status are exempt from the quick ticketing fee.
Dividend Miles award processing fee
We charge an award processing fee for all award tickets based on destination ($25 for domestic tickets, $35 for tickets to Mexico/the Caribbean and $50 for tickets to Hawaii, Europe, the Middle East and South America).
